(Des Moines) The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for all of southwest and west central Iowa until 10:00 p.m.
Wide spread thunderstorm activity is expected to develop across the area this afternoon into tonight. All modes of severe weather is forecast including; golf ball sized hail, damaging surface winds in excess of 60 miles per hour and a few tornadoes will be possible during this time.
A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for Northern Mills County at around 3:15 p.m. Radar was indicating half dollar sized hail and wind gusts of 60-mles per hour.
